ProBio Małopolska 2.0 (2020-2022)
Promocja Bioregionu Małopolska (ProBioM-2) The project is co-financed by the Regional Operational Programme of the Malopolska Region for 2020-2022. The name of the Project: Promotion of the economic potential of BIO - Regions of Małopolska on the international arena (ProBio Małopolska) · Project leader: Fundacja Klaster LifeScience Kraków · Project partner: Fundacja Inicjatyw Innowacyjnych Financial information: · Project budget: PLN 4 471 943.75 · European Funds contribution: PLN 3 801 152.19 · Project duration: 28 months The aim of the Project is to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs and StartUps, through an integrated programme of the economic offer of the Malopolska BioRegion, linked to a programme to stimulate and support expansion into international markets. The ProBioM2 project is based on the experience of the first ProBio Małopolska project, implemented in 2016-2019. The project relates directly to the opportunities and challenges of the SME sector, characterised by a high rate of change and development and a high cost and risk of starting a business. The project Promotion of the Małopolska Bioregion (ProBioM-2) is an element of the LifeScience Krakow Cluster strategy, the long-term goal of which is to build the position of "Małopolska Bio-Region as a leader among bio-regions in Central and Eastern Europe, having the ability to compete and cooperate with developed regions in Europe. and in the world ". This goal will be achieved in the long term through the existence of an effective "life sciences innovation ecosystem" in Małopolska. The key element of this ecosystem, with the greatest potential for growth on a global scale, is the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises, conducting innovative activities in the area of smart specialisation "life sciences", being at all stages of company development (i.e. from start-up to developed commercial activity).

External exhibitor For a better cooperation of the regions Rhine-Main and Rhine-Neckar we want to strengthen the partnership between Darmstadt and Heidelberg in the project heiDa. Interesting for companies, incubators, universities and especially is the exchange to expand the own catchment area and probably to use synergy effects through partnerships or to explore new topics.

The project between the University of Rwanda and the University of Koblenz is an eye level cooperation that contributes to making the higher education of the University of Rwanda more practice-oriented. The long-term aim is to improve the economic conditions and to prepare students and graduates from the University of Rwanda for the labor market. Therefore we will implement a Competence Center where students, graduates and lecturers can participate in workshops that are related to key competences for the labor market and scientific working fields. Furthermore, we will establish a broad network between business partners in Rwanda and in Germany and the University of Rwanda. Within this network annual exchanges are planned to discover the needs of the business partners and the students will have the possibility to do internships and gain first working experience. Another component will be the facilitation of collaborative research projects from Rwandan and German scientists on project-related topics.

Double E-drive ForLong Range
Efficient and suitable for long distances Research teams from Darmstadt Technical University are working with industrial partners to develop a drive system for a hybrid vehicle consisting of two electric motors and a low-emission natural gas engine. The project, part of the DE4LoRa project, is being funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) to the tune of around 6.4 million, with the total project volume amounting to around ten million euros. In this way, the BMWi aims to drive forward the development of efficient and environmentally friendly mobility. "For many users whose daily journeys rarely exceed 100 kilometers, high-voltage hybrids are a viable solution for the future," says Professor Dr.-Ing. Stephan Rinderknecht, a specialist in mechatronic systems in mechanical engineering at Darmstadt Technical University and one of the initiators of DE4LoRa. "They offer locally emission-free electric driving on everyday routes and at the same time full long-distance capability. We are developing and testing the technical basis in the form of a new reference architecture with DE4LoRa." COMPREDICT is providing the virtual load estimates for powertrain design as well as the algorithms for lifetime prediction.
